DC police identify body found in water near airport as Va. woman

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — District of Columbia police have identified a woman whose body was found in the waterway near Reagan National Airport.

Metropolitan Police Department said Tuesday that the body found Saturday is 61 year-old Maria Lydia Cruz of Alexandria, Virginia.

Police say Cruz's body was pulled from the water near Four Mile Run Stream and the Potomac River around 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

A medical examiner will determine how Cruz died. The police department says its homicide unit is in charge of investigating the death.

No arrests have been made.
