DC high school evacuated after students exposed to fumes from construction site

A D.C. high school was evacuated Thursday morning after fumes from a construction site impacted the building.

Dunbar High School in Northwest, D.C. was evacuated around 9:30 a.m.

Officials say fuel soaked soil at a nearby construction zone was releasing fumes into the school building. One school employee was transported for observation and hazmat crews conducted tests inside.

No students were reported injured. Students were allowed back inside around 11 a.m.
