Court documents: Police searched vehicle of Savopoulos assistant Jordan Wallace

A newly unsealed search warrant has revealed new information about a personal assistant of a local businessman who was killed along with his wife, his son and housekeeper in their D.C. home last month.

The warrant officially identifies Jordan Wallace by name as the person who delivered $40,000 in cash to the home of Savvas and Amy Savopoulos on the morning of the murders. The money delivery was requested by his boss, Savvas Savopoulos, Wallace told police.

A court document also shows that police searched Wallace's 2009 BMW 128 vehicle parked about a block away from the Savopoulos' home.

Police were looking for "large denominations of U.S. currency, bank money wrappers, a red lined bag, manila envelopes, banking documents from Bank of America," but none of these items were apparently found in the car, according to documents.

Police swabbed the doors, the steering wheel and the gearshift of the car. Parts of the vehicle were also taken, which included the rocker panel and some parts of the trunk.

Also seized in the search were SD cards, fast food receipts, backpacks, a GoPro camera and a MacBook Air laptop.

The lead prosecutor in this case from the U.S. Attorney's Office came to the Savopoulos' Woodland Drive home on Thursday along with defense attorneys for Daron Wint, a suspect charged in the murders in this case. The prosecutor and attorneys were taken inside the house with crime scene experts for D.C. police.

Search warrants released on Wednesday revealed a shoe or boot print was found by investigators on an exterior French-style door of the Savopoulos' home. In addition, the door was broken near the lock and a broken window pane suggested there was forced entry into the house.

These documents also showed cell phones belonging to the victims were stolen from the home. Investigators were hoping data from these phones would help lead them to suspects in this case.

Wint was arrested after police found DNA linking him to a partially eaten pizza crust that was delivered to the Savopoulos' house on May 13. There have been no other arrests in this case, but the search warrant affidavit says "the crimes described in this affidavit required the presence and assistance of more than one person."
