Coast Guard marking aviation centennial with DC flyover

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Coast Guard is celebrating its aviation centennial by flying an assortment of aircraft over the nation's capital.

A Coast Guard statement says the flyover is set for 1 p.m. Friday. It includes nine aircraft from the current fleet, including some that are painted to resemble historical aircraft.

The route includes airspace over Nationals Park, the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.

The Coast Guard says other good spots for viewing the show include the Morgan Boulevard Metro Station, Anacostia Park and the 11th Street Bridge.
