Bring your own cup: 7-Eleven will make your Slurpee dreams come true this Saturday

A mug. A beaker. A goblet. A pitcher. A thermos. A helmet? If it COULD be considered a cup, you can fill it with a Slurpee this Saturday.

All you have to do is bring your own "cup" to any 7-Eleven store this Saturday (April 11) from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time. Since summer is just around the corner (!!!!), 7-Eleven is kicking off the Slurpee season with BYO Cup Day. For $1.49, you can fill your cup (whatever the size) with your favorite Slurpee favor.

What counts as a cup is up to you—with a couple of stipulations. The cup has to fit upright through an in-store display with a 10-inch diameter hole. And no trash cans or inflatable swimming pools.

You know somewhere, someone has tried it.

This marks the first time 7-Eleven has held BYO Cup Day in the U.S. They've had it in Australia, Canada the Philippines and Malaysia in the past.

"Slurpee is all about having fun, and what better way to celebrate warmer weather than by filling your favorite cup with your favorite beverage?" said Laura Gordon, 7 Eleven vice president of marketing and brand innovation. "From sand buckets to trophies, customers can unleash their creativity by bringing in their choice of a unique, fun Slurpee cup."

So, come Saturday, expect to see bizarre excuses for cups floating through your Twitter feed with the hashtag #BYOCupDay. 7-Eleven is also upping the social media game on Snapchat. For Thursday ONLY, you can add "ReallySlurpee" on Snapchat, and then Snapchat them a picture of your "cup." They'll reply back and let you know if it's a thumbs up, or thumbs down.

You can also follow @slurpee on Twitter for more info.

Happy Slurping!
