Body of man found inside car at Greenbelt park

Authorities are investigating after the body of a man was found dead inside of a car at a park in Greenbelt.

The body was found on Monday around 7 p.m. in the parking lot of Schrom Hills Park in the 6900 block of Hanover Parkway.

Officers say they were alerted to the situation when a person seen near the car told them they had been robbed. While investigating, they found an unresponsive man in the driver's seat of the vehicle. The man was transported to Doctor's Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities say the person who claimed to have been robbed may have been under the influence of drugs and was transported by ambulance to Prince George's General Hospital for observation.

The deceased has not yet been identified. The investigation is continuing at this time.
