Billboard telling liberals to leave Texas to be taken down

A West Texas billboard telling liberals to leave Texas will be taken down after a backlash online.

An image of the billboard was posted on Facebook on Tuesday and quickly went viral. It said: "Liberals, Please continue on I-40 until you have left our GREAT STATE OF TEXAS."

The billboard was located about 30 miles outside of Amarillo on eastbound Interstate 40 nera the town of Vega.

On Wednesday, the owner of the advertising company that sells space on the billboard told the Star-Telegram it would be taken down and the buyer would be reimbursed.

"I believe in free speech, but this country is divided enough as it is. I've spoken with the client, and he's agreed that it should come down," said Randy Burkett.
