Authorities identify victims of deadly DC rowhouse fire

D.C. authorities have identified the victims of a deadly rowhouse fire in the Dupont Circle area. Michael Patrick McLoughlin, 24, and Nina May Brekelmans, 25, were killed in the fire.

It happened at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday along the 1600 block of Riggs Place.

Sources tell FOX 5 two bodies were pulled from the third floor. One person was found in the bedroom and the other in the hallway.

Neighbors say the owner of the home survived by jumping out a window.

Firefighters managed to contain the fire to only one home. At the house next door, a grateful family member told us they had only smoke damage.

Three firefighters were injured, but are recovering. The cause is under investigation.
