Man charged in shooting at Lorton home

LORTON, Va. - A man has been charged with malicious wounding after a shooting at a Lorton home.

Police responded to the 9200 block of Forest Greens Drive shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday. A 20-year-old man, who lives in the home, suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was flown to the hospital.

When officers arrived, they determined that there had been a small party taking place. There were three women and another man in the home.

Police took 48-year-old Michael Wassif, who also lives at the home, into custody. He is charged with one count of malicious wounding.

Police are investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the shooting.
