In fact, it happened to a FOX 5 news crew on Monday-- and it's a story we can't help but share. You know it's cold, but when your job forces you to stand outside-- like our reporters and photographers-- wintry weather days can be pretty miserable.
But thanks to a stranger, FOX 5 reporter Jennifer Davis and photographer Don Stanke got a little pick me up. As the snow fell in Cleveland Park on Monday night, they were set up for live shots on FOX 5-- outside, in the cold. A woman they didn't know from a nearby restaurant (Ardeo Bardeo) knocked on the truck door-- and offered them a very warm cup of coffee, in a fancy cup!
"19 years in the business and don't think anyone has ever knocked on our live truck window with this kind of sweet gift before," Davis wrote on her Facebook page late Monday night. "Don Stanke and I feel very fancy drinking out of real cups while we work on our snow story, thanks to this lovely woman named Colletta from Ardeo Bardeo."
Thanks, Colletta, for making our crew's day-- and making us smile!
