Viewers took to twitter to tell Will where to eat, and "where" was Ciao Osteria! It's just nine months old, but already has a loyal following.
Sal Speziale and his wife, Gina, are the owners. Sal is a retired Air Force fighter pilot who now works several days a week as a commercial airline captain.
WHAT'S ON THE MENU?
It's hearty, with a French influence. Chef Antonino DiNicola calls it southern. You'll find everything from their oso buco veal shank to pizza--- and it's not just any pizza. They're made Neapolitan style in a 6,000-pound, wood-burning oven. At 900 degrees, your pizza will be done in 90 seconds. Only three of those kind of ovens exist in all of northern Virginia!
Did we mention the dough is proofed for 12 hours, with Italian water used in the mix... and the mozzarella is made fresh in-house?
Entrees run about $9-$22 dollars, depending on whether you're having lunch or dinner.
A great community restaurant with a family feel... that can also be romantic for that night date night out!
THE MUST HAVE?
The misto de pesce.
