Ambulance with patient inside involved in accident en route to hospital

WASHINGTON - An ambulance with a patient inside was involved in an accident while on the way to the hospital. The accident happened just before 7:30 a.m. at Alabama Avenue and Naylor Road in southeast D.C.

The woman who was being transported suffered injuries during the accident. A second ambulance arrived and transported her to a nearby hospital.

The ambulance crew suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were hospitalized.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision was also injured and hospitalized.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
