Ambulance bursts into flames after crashing into utility pole on icy streets

CHEVY CHASE, Md. - A private ambulance caught fire after crashing into a utility pole in Montgomery County Tuesday morning.

The accident happened on Western Avenue near River Road in Chevy Chase around 5 a.m.

The ambulance belonged to the Lifestar Ambulance Service.

There was no patient on board at the time.

The EMT and medic that were in the ambulance were able to make it out safely before the vehicle caught fire.
