Alexandria woman explains her desire to become one of the first Martians

Life on Mars is the goal of the Mars One project.

But - there's a catch. The volunteer Martians who make the cut will get a one-way ticket to the red planet!

The goal is to colonize a foreign world and make it habitable to humanity.

More than 200,000 applied for the mission.

That list has now been trimmed to 100 - including 33 Americans.

One of those finalists is an Alexandria woman named Sonia Van Meter.

She joined us to explain why she's willing to leave planet Earth to live on Mars.
