80 protesters arrested inside House and Senate Office buildings

Police say 80 people were arrested inside the U.S. Capitol during their protests against the Republican health care bill.

The demonstrations took place Monday afternoon and U.S. Capitol Police said they responded to 13 locations in the House and Senate Office Buildings.

Outside of Sen. Jeff Flake's (R-Ariz.) office, protesters were heard chanting "This bill has got to go. Trumpcare equals death. We need Medicare. Kill this bill."

"After officers arrived at the numerous scenes, they warned the demonstrators to cease and desist with their unlawful demonstration activities," U.S. Capitol Police said in a news release. "Those who refused to cease and desist were placed under arrest and charged with D.C. Code §22-1307, Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding."

Capitol Police said 59 people were arrested in Senate Office Buildings while 21 were taken into custody in House Office Buildings.
