Donations pour in after gifts for needy children stolen from Salvation Army warehouse

- Two people have been arrested after police say they broke into a D.C. Salvation Army warehouse and stole gifts meant for needy children.

The thefts occurred Saturday at around 9 a.m. at the 8th Street location in the Southeast. Organizers say the toys were stolen just days before the start of the Salvation Army's Angel Tree distribution

Help has been pouring in since the gifts were stolen. On Sunday, the Salvation Army announced a donation of $20K to help replace the gifts.

The Salvation Army said a laptop had been stolen, along with multiple bikes, clothes, portable electronics and other items. Police say they are still searching for additional suspects.
