Family says miracle after baby's inoperable brain tumor shrinks following kiss from Pope Francis

- A 1-year-old who was one of many babies kissed by Pope Francis during his visit to the United States is experiencing what her parents call a miracle.

The parents of Gianna Masciantonio say her rare, inoperable brain tumor has shrunk in size since she was kissed by the pontiff during the papal parade in Philadelphia.

They say brain scans in August showed the tumor but a recent MRI showed little signs of it.

The child was named for Saint Gianna, a modern day saint who died in 1962.

The saint's daughter was in Philadelphia and also met the child during the papal weekend.
