FAA: Drunken passenger tried to open exit door during flight

- A British Airways flight has landed safely at Boston Logan International Airport after a passenger reportedly tried to open an exit door during the flight, the Federal Aviation Administration told Fox affiliate WFXT.

Massachusetts State Police have determined an intoxicated passenger tried to open the door. The flight landed safely around 1:30 p.m. et.

"Troopers [are] on [the] jet bridge to take custody of restrained passenger, investigate incident," officials tweeted.

Flight tracking Web site FlightAware.com listed British Airways 213 flight from London landed in Boston at 1:29 p.m. The flight appears to have originated from London Heathrow International Airport.

The passenger has only been identified as a woman who is about 30 years old. Officials said she has no known ties to terrorism.

British Airways released a statement after the incident.
"Our customers and crew deserve to have a safe and enjoyable flight and we do not tolerate abusive behavior," the statement reads." Our crew have requested that police meet the flight in Boston due to an unruly customer on board."

Massachusetts State Police are investigating.
