Florida woman finds snake inside her dryer

Laundry is usually one of those mundane chores around the house, but one woman in Safety Harbor got a rush of adrenaline after coming face-to-face with a snake in her dryer.

Amanda Wise said her Sunday started normally enough: she made a cup of coffee, then headed into her garage to fold laundry after her clothes had finished drying.

She was just about finished unloading the dryer when she found what appeared to be a corn snake curled up amongst her clothing.

"If there's one thing I am terrified of (other than flying) it's snakes," Wise said. "I have never ran so fast in my life. My heart was racing, my legs were shaking and I burst into a sweat."

Wise's husband used the end of a broom to coax the snake out of the dryer and out of a side door.

"Shout out to my husband, the snake tamer, for getting him out of the dryer safely and outside (where he belongs)!" she wrote.

Wise said they later realized the dryer vent cover on the side of the house had fallen off, and they believe that's how the snake made its way into the appliance.
