5 things to know about Washington Nationals NLDS Game 5

- It’s game 5 of the NLDS. Do or die time!

Nats fans – this is what the season is all about. Win or go home!

This is what you should know about the biggest game of the season.

Believe it or not – some tickets could still be purchased online as of Thursday morning. A quick check of washington.nationals.mlb.com/ showed several options still available.

Single seats and seats for four were up for sale – average price was $65.

Don’t expect these to last too long.

You can always explore third-party ticket re-sale sites online as a second option.

First pitch is at 8:08 p.m.

Take the Green Line to the Navy Yard station. The Navy Yard station is just a half a block away or the Orange, Blue or Silver Line to the Capitol South station, just a 15 minute walk from the Ballpark.

Many Nationals fans are scrambling to figure out how they are going to get home from Nationals Park after Metro announced it will not stay open past midnight to accommodate those in attendance.

With the first pitch scheduled for 8:08 p.m. – the game may not end until after Metro closes at midnight.

Check out social media for a cost-friendlier way to get to and from the ballpark using the hashtag #NatsRide.

You can also consider taxicabs, Uber or Lyft.

On their website, the Washington Nationals provide these departure times for trains leaving from the Navy Yard:

- Greenbelt (continuing to Red Line) @ 11:17 p.m.

- Greenbelt (no Red Line connection) @ 11:40 p.m.

- Branch Avenue @ 12:17 a.m.

Max Scherzer will take the mound for Washington. Scherzer was the losing pitcher in Game 1 of the series.

L.A. manager Dave Roberts still hasn't named his starter, though he has said Rich Hill and Julio Urias will pitch in the game. Hill took the loss in Game 2, and Urias has yet to appear in the series.

Unlike Game 2 which was rained out – Thursday’s game 5 should give us nice baseball weather. Temps will be a cool 64 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Wear your long sleeve Nats shirt to the game and let’s go home with a win!
