Gunman robs Pokémon Go players on University of Maryland's College Park campus

University of Maryland Police are investigating after a gunmen is suspected of robbing several Pokemon Go players on the College Park campus Tuesday night.

In each case, officers say the suspect showed a weapon before robbing the victims. The first incident happened at approximately 9:08 p.m. near Tydings Hall. The second was reported around 9:20 p.m. outside and in front of Tydings Hall. The last happened around 10:12 p.m. near Queen Anne's Hall.

Authorities say the suspect in each robbery was wearing dark clothing and a black mask. Three of the four victims were University of Maryland students. Police also say three of the victims were playing the Pokemon Go game. Several cell phones were stolen during the incidents.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made at this time.

Officials say searches of the campus came back clear but urge students to be aware of their surroundings and to report any information that may be found posted on social media.
