Overnight homicide marks Prince George's County's 12th killing since start of July

- An overnight homicide in Forestville marks the twelfth murder in Prince George's County in less than two weeks.

The county’s most recent murder was reported around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 1500 of Forest Park Drive. Police say they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds when they arrived. One of the men was pronounced dead on the scene and the other was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have not identified any suspects or motives in the overnight killing. Detectives do not believe the shootings were random.

On Sunday, two men were killed after being shot near a Popeyes restaurant in Suitland. The two men were shot in an alley near the restaurant. One of the men was pronounced dead on scene. The other man ran to the restaurant for help and died later at a nearby hospital.
