DC cracks down on synthetic drugs, illegal dirt bikes

D.C. officials are cracking down on two big issues in the District.

A business is being investigated for selling synthetic drugs and a councilmember is introducing a bill geared at illegal dirt bikes and ATV'S.

Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie is scheduled to introduce a bill at the Council's legislative meeting that will increase the penalties for operating dirt bikes and ATVs.

The bill will also allow the owner to be disqualified from obtaining a license for six months if they are convicted of operating one illegally.

It will also make it illegal to park a dirt bike or ATV anywhere on public space in the District and require registration with the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Police tell FOX 5 that a D.C. business is being investigated after allegedly selling synthetic drugs after a bill a new law banning sales went into affect.
