Disabled train causes major delays on Metro Red Line

A disabled train has caused major delays on Metro's Red Line during Monday's rush hour commute.

Metro said the disabled train had to offload passengers at Farragut North at around 5:43 p.m. before being taken out of service.

The train caused single tracking, delays as much as 30 to 40 minutes in both directions of the Red Line and crowded conditions at station platforms.

About an hour later after the malfunction, the disabled train was finally removed from the line.
