Md. restaurant owner charged with groping, exposing himself to customer

A Maryland restaurant owner is being accused of groping a female customer and exposing himself after she dined at one of his restaurants earlier this month.

Dimitrios "Jimmy" Fragoyannis has been charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree sex offense and indecent exposure.

"The victim told the officers that she was eating in the restaurant and noticed the owner, who she identified as Dimitrios Fragoyannis, was staring at her while she was eating in the restaurant," said Montgomery County Police Officer Rick Goodale. "She proceeded to leave the restaurant and noticed that he began to follow her in his vehicle."

Police say the incident happened on June 12 after she left the Mamma Lucia restaurant in Rockville on Shady Grove Road.

"Fragoyannis followed her, he approached her on the driver's side and reached into the vehicle and sexually assaulted her while she was in the vehicle," said Officer Goodale.

In addition to groping her, police say the 48-year-old man is also alleged of exposing himself to the woman.

Police are concerned there could be more victims.

"We are asking the public if anybody else has experienced any of this kind of behavior from Mr. Fragoyannis to please call us," Goodale said.

Police say they can be contacted at 301-279-8000.

Fragoyannis was convicted back in 2008 for sexually assaulting an 18-year-old waitress at the same Rockville restaurant.

He is a co-owner of Mamma Lucia, which has six different locations in Maryland.
