Three dead bodies have been found floating in tourist areas in the nation's capital in the last three days. That's a very strange occurrence and it is causing concern for many people in the city.

Summer in D.C. is full of tourists and children, so it was an especially scary scene on Wednesday morning when three passersby called police about a body floating in the Tidal Basin by the Jefferson Memorial.

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Deante Tinnen of Southeast D.C. The cause of his death remains under investigation.

On Wednesday at noon, a witness flagged down police after seeing a body floating in the Potomac River near the Kennedy Center -- along a stretch of the river usually busy with crew teams as well as runners on the path.

Police say that victim is white, but could not yet identify the gender or cause of death.

Right down the river, another body was found on Monday at the Georgetown Waterfront. Ronald Windsor, a 47-year-old from North Carolina, was found floating in the 2900 block of K Street, NW, next to the Washington Harbour -- a popular tourist area in the summer. Police said on Thursday that he had drowned.

A police spokeswoman said that as of now, there is no indication of foul play for any of these dead bodies floating in the river.
