15-year-old boy arrested for double murder in Fredericksburg

A 15-year-old boy faces two first degree murder charges after a fight at the Greenbrier Shopping Center over the weekend.

Police said the homicides happened at 2:10 a.m. Sunday outside of Cook Out Restaurant, which is located on 2024 Plank Road in Fredericksburg.

Three adults were stabbed after a verbal altercation escalated in the parking lot, police said. Two of the men died.

Police said the victims were part of a group that attended a party at Jay's Lounge before going to Cook Out for a meal. The suspect ended up at the restaurant after a graduation party.

The deceased victims have been identified as Anthony Carter, 28, of Albany, Georgia and Mac Hughes, 30, of Portsmouth, Virginia. The third stabbing victim, a 29-year-old Stafford resident, remains in the hospital.

The suspect, who is from Spotsylvania County, is being held at the Rappahannock Juvenile Detention Center.
