WASHINGTON - As many as 10 people may have been injured after a multi-vehicle accident in northeast D.C. The accident happened on southbound Interstate 295 prior to Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue.
All lanes of southbound I-295 were blocked for over an hour while crews cleared the scene. Images show a silver vehicle on top of a red car. Traffic was diverted onto Kenilworth Avenue until the roadway was reopened around 7 a.m.
Police say as many as seven vehicles were involved in the crash and as many as 10 people suffered injuries.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
