Student attacked during Trump protest; Superintendent warns of disciplinary action over walkouts

- The superintendent of Montgomery County Schools is issuing a strong message to students planning to protest the election of Donald Trump.

Jack Smith posted video online late last night instructing students to stay safe, stay in class, and to behave with respect towards every student, teacher and adult in the Montgomery Country community. (WATCH VIDEO HERE)

His message follows Wednesday’s peaceful protest in Rockville that turned violent. Police say students from Richard Montgomery High School were marching to the Rockville courthouse when several students were involved in an altercation with another student wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat.

The injured student is recovering and is expected to be okay. Investigators have identified a suspect in the attack but are not releasing a name because he is a juvenile.
