VIDEO: Possible Abduction in Woodbridge

-

Prince William County Police are investigating after a possible abduction was caught on camera at a Woodbridge Walmart.

In the video, two men are seen forcing a person into the trunk of their car and driving off.

It happened just after 10:00 p.m. Friday directly in front of the store at 14000 Worth Avenue.

The video shows a dark colored, 4-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry, pulling up in front of the store and two men exiting. The two men walk out of the camera view, and less than a minute later, reappear holding the victim from both sides walking towards the trunk area of the car. At one point, the victim appears to struggle to get away, but is unsuccessful. The men put the person in the trunk, get inside the car and speed off.

Police said it's unclear whether the victim is a man or a woman.

Investigators also said that some who saw what happened weren't sure if they were witnessing a crime or a prank.

"We're worried right now that this a legitimate abduction, and that's how we're investigating it, but there are still a lot of questions that we have as the investigation has gone on," said Sgt. Jonathan Perok. "A few of the witnesses reported to us that the victim didn't scream during the encounter, and that it appeared they were kind of play fighting during it. But still, we are worried because the victim was placed in the trunk of a car."

Additional surveillance footage reviewed by detectives showed that before the incident, the suspect vehicle drove next to the victim in the parking lot for a short distance and  there appeared to be a conversation happening.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call police at 703-792-6500
