WASHINGTON - Police responded to several shootings and stabbings in the District in what turned out to be one of the most violent weekends in the city this year.
Investigators responded to six shootings and four stabbings from Friday to Sunday. One of the incidents resulted in a homicide.
In another incident, an 18-year old was shot while waiting for a bus on Alabama Avenue in the southeast. Nearby, police say a community go-go concert was going on with nearly 100 people in attendance. The victim in that case should recover, police say.
FOX 5 was covering the story and was speaking with Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner Paul Trantham on Sunday when gunshots rang out in the background.
Police are still investigating the weekend incidents.
