Police officers wound man in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Beach police say officers shot and wounded a man in an exchange of gunfire after responding to a fatal shooting near the Virginia Wesleyan College campus.

Police spokeswoman Tonya Borman says officers had gone to a home Friday night where a woman was fatally shot and a man was wounded.

Borman says an officer saw another man nearby fitting a description of a suspect and police confronted him. After attempting to talk to the man, officers and the man exchanged gunfire. Borman says the man was shot by police. Media outlets report no officers were injured.

Police say the injuries of the man being questioned and the man found at the home were not considered life threatening.
