Several people evacuated from a hotel in Alexandria after a fire broke out this morning

 Nearly 200 people were evacuated from a hotel in Alexandria after a fire broke out Sunday morning.

It happened at the 'Quality Inn' on Richmond Highway.
    
Firefighters say the hotel is a total loss and was fully engulfed in flames.
    
Officials say it appears to be an electrical fire that started in the utility room.
    
It took dozens of firefighters several hours to put the fire out.
    
Some people were taken to the hospital but their injuries were minor according to officials.
