FBI employee found dead from gunshot wounds in Stafford County; suspect arrested

STAFFORD, Va. (AP) -- Authorities say a man has been arrested in the Virginia shooting death of a police officer responsible for providing security to the FBI.

Stafford County sheriff's spokesman Bill Kennedy says 26-year-old Antoine Gray Johnson of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was charged with first-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is charged in connection with the death Monday of 29-year-old Jeremy Brown, an FBI police officer.

Kennedy said in a statement that Brown was leaving his home in uniform about 5 a.m. when a man confronted him and the pair exchanged gunfire, killing Brown. The motive is under investigation, but Kennedy said Brown and Johnson knew each other.

Johnson was taken to a local jail. It wasn't known if he had an attorney.
