According to the Metropolitan Police Department two adult males were hurt after a police-involved shooting on Georgia Avenue and Ingraham Street NW.
Around 8 p.m Saturday, an off-duty MPD officer overheard the sound of multiple gunshots.
The officer responded to investigate and observed one person entering a white car. The officer identified himself as MPD and gave verbal commands but that person ignored those commands.
The susoect pulled out a weapon and pointed it in the direction of the officer, causing the officer to fire his service weapon.
Police say the suspect fled the scene in the white vehicle along with several other individuals.
A short time later, two individuals, suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds were dropped off by a white car at an area hospital.
After further investigation, one of the individuals, 21-year old Curtis Fowler of Southwest, DC was arrested for an Assault on a Police Officer while Armed offense.
At this time, it is unknown if the individuals were struck by gunfire from the officer or during the initial shooting.
The officer involved in the shooting was off-duty at the time and was not injured.
Investigation is ongoing.
