Irving's shut down by Prince George's County officials

A FOX 5 investigation in January first brought you allegations about sex trafficking happening inside Prince George's County's underground clubs. Now, one of the clubs featured in our investigation, Irving's, has been shut down.

One of the larger problems found in our investigation was that the venues where FOX 5 saw the illicit activities taking place were licensed to be either auditoriums or banquet halls. Irving's was operating with a use and occupancy license for a banquet hall. It was shut down after county officials witnessed lap dances taking place inside the venue, which is not licensed to operate as adult entertainment.

"I will say that based upon your information we realized that Irving's was back open and operating again. We were not aware of that. We had done several inspections and every time we went by there they were closed. So now that we got that information we are addressing that specific case," said Gary Cunningham, with the Prince George's County Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement.

"Do you foresee you guys going back out there now?" asked FOX 5's Marina Marraco

"Absolutely, if they're open we're going to do what we can to catch them in the act and if they're continuing to operate we're going to padlock them this time," said Cunningham.

As for Irving's, the owner has already filed for an appeal. That hearing date is still pending.
