Guard dies after being shot at US Census Bureau in Suitland

A male security guard who was shot at the United States Census Bureau in Suitland has died, according to a hospital spokesperson.

The spokesperson says Lawrence Buckner died at Prince George's Hospital Center at 7:19 p.m. Thursday.

Prince George's County Fire and EMS spokesperson Mark Brady tweeted Thursday evening after the shooting occurred that the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body.

The FBI said Thursday night the shooting of the security guard is related to the car chase in Washington D.C. that ended with the armed suspect and a police officer both shot after an exchange of gunfire.
