Cardinal McCarrick faints during mass, recovering at Maryland hospital

Former Archbishop of Washington, Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, is recovering after fainting during mass Thursday.

A former spokesperson for the archdiocese says he is doing just fine now.

He fainted during service at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bethesda.

Rescue crews were called to the church and he was taken to suburban hospital.

A spokesperson says the 84-year-old had been fasting and may have been dehydrated.
