PHOTOS: $22 million mansion hits the market in DC

A new listing on the market in the District comes with a $22 million price tag.

Fessenden House, described as an "architectural jewel" by listing agent Nancy Itteilag, is tied with a year-old listing in Kalorama as the priciest property on the market in D.C.

The newly-listed mansion is currently owned by Samuel Lehrman, whose family co-founded Giant Food.

Fessenden House is located in the affluent Forest Hills neighborhood in Northwest, about five miles from another beautiful mansion, the White House.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
  • 7 bedrooms
  • 9 full baths
  • 5 partial baths
  • 20,000 square feet
  • 1 acre

Entertain much? A sweeping curved staircase overlooks the pool, there's a wine cellar and tasting room, and a half-sized sports court.

Among the home's other features is an elevator.

At $22 million, you would be looking at roughly a $100,000 a month mortgage payment, but buyers in this price range usually come with cash.

Showings are by appointment only. They begin on Monday.
