"Empire" stars split on use of the N-word

The stars of the FOX hit show "Empire" appear to be split on whether the N-word should be used on the show.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Terrence Howard said he would like to see the show use the racial slur because it's used in everyday talk.

Co-star Taraji P. Henson agrees that it's important for actors to stay true to their characters and depict their stories in an authentic way. However, she told FOX News that she doesn't think the world is ready for the N-word to be used on national television.

"I just want to say I think the show is doing just fine without the word on national television, but know that if this were a movie or if this was on cable television, that word would be in the script," Henson said.
