Charles County cuts spring break 3 days due to snow

Charles County Public Schools is shortening spring break because the school system has used more snow days than allotted at the beginning of the school year.

According to a news release, schools will be open for students and teachers for three days during spring break:

  • Monday, March 30
  • Tuesday, March 31
  • Wednesday, April 1

Wednesday, April 1 will be a two-hour early dismissal day for students and afternoon prekindergarten students attend that day.

Students who are absent from school during those days must submit a note indicating the reason for their absence upon their return. It will be up to the principal to decide if the absence is excused.

Charles County Public Schools has used seven inclement weather days so far this school year. Only four are built into the school calendar.

Schools will be closed for spring break April 2 to April 6, unless more snow days are used.
