Rainbow flag burned at Adams Morgan bar

- A rainbow flag was burned outside of a popular Adams Morgan bar on Sunday and police are trying to find the person responsible.

The incident happened sometime between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Sunday outside of Bourbon, a bar and restaurant along 18th Street in Northwest D.C.

James Woods, the owner of Bourbon, told FOX 5 that he hung the flag outside of his restaurant last week to recognize and celebrate gay pride. When cleaning crews arrived to the restaurant on Sunday morning, the flag had been burned.

The incident is being investigated by D.C. police.

Community members from around the area came together Friday night to present Woods with a new flag, which is now proudly hanging outside of Bourbon. The flag was a gift from Morgan Tepper, who organized the event to give the new flag.
