Smoke reported, cleared at Dupont Circle Metro station

WASHINGTON (AP) — Smoke was reported in a Metro station and a train was taken out of service on the red line, but Metro says no one was injured.

Metro spokeswoman Caroline Laurin says a train experienced a brake problem early Friday afternoon that led to smoky conditions at the Dupont Circle station. She says the train was taken out of service and there were no reported injuries.

Firefighters were called to the Dupont Circle station and stopped people from entering the station for a time. But fire crews have cleared the scene.

The report of smoke comes after an incident last month where a train filled with smoke near the L'Enfant Plaza station and a woman died. Dozens of other passengers were injured.
