An argument over a deer leads to a shooting on Maryland's Eastern Shore. On January 31, 2015 1:00 A.M. the Worcester County Bureau of Investigations was notified of a shooting victim at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. It was learned that the victim had been shot twice near the intersection of Whitesburg Road and Five Bridges Road, Worcester County. Detectives responded to the Hospital and made contact with the victim and witnesses of the shooting.
It was learned that the Victim along with two witnesses were in a vehicle traveling down Whitesburg Road in Worcester County. They stopped near the intersection of Whitesburg Road and Five Bridges Road to assist with someone that had struck a deer with their vehicle. It was reported that an argument started between both parties. The suspect later identified as Kenny George White of South Camden Avenue, Fruitland obtained a Shotgun and fired at the victim standing in the road way. The victim turned to flee and was shot at again by the suspect. The victim sustained injuries from the shotgun pellets below his torso. The victim was able to get back in the vehicle and they were able to get a partial license plate number that assisted the police in finding the suspect.
The victim returned to his residence in Eden and called for an ambulance. The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office initially responded to the residence where it was later learned that the shooting had occurred in Worcester County. The Fruitland Police Department located the suspect vehicle on South Camden Avenue, Fruitland. Detectives from the Bureau made contact with the suspect Kenny George White and had the opportunity to interview him. They developed enough probable cause to charge him with Attempted Murder, First Degree Assault, and Use of a firearm in the commission of a Felony.
A search warrant was obtained for his residence and a Shotgun and Shotgun Shells were recovered and seized as evidence. A search of the area on Whitesburg Road, where the reported shooting had occurred revealed two "spent" shotgun shells matching the description of the shotgun shells found at his residence.
Mr. White was taken to the Wicomico County Detention Center for processing. At this time Bond is not known and a photograph of the suspect can be obtained by contacting the Wicomico County Detention Center.
The combined cooperation from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, Worcester County Sheriff's Office, Fruitland Police Department, Maryland State Police and Detectives from the Worcester County Bureau of Investigations assisted in the investigation and apprehension of the suspect.
