Starting Monday, McDonald's lets customers pay with Lovin'

McDonald's will air their new Super Bowl ad Sunday, and on Monday, they'll randomly start taking a new form of payment: "lovin'."

From February 2-14, McDonald's customers chosen at random who order items during certain pre-selected times will have the chance to "Pay with Lovin'." What's that mean, exactly? Well, the employee helping you will tell you if you've been chosen to get your order free!

McDonald's says they've come up with lots of ways for you to show your "lovin'," from high fives to selfies. In the Super Bowl commercial, which by the way is the first McDonald's has produced for the game in eight years, shows customers being asked to pay with calls to their mom, fist bumps, family hugs and even dancing.

The rules say the offer isn't free at the drive-thru, and the promotional time runs period from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time from February 2 to February 14. No purchase is necessary. The rules also say the "Lovin' Acts" will be designated by the lead manager (a.k.a. the Lovin' Lead), and can include things like fist bumping the Lovin' Lead, calling a loved one, telling the Lovin' Lead what the Participant loves about their significant other, blowing a kiss, or other general sentiment or Lovin' Act in the theme of the Game, subject to Lovin' Lead's reasonable discretion and completed to Lovin' Lead's reasonable satisfaction.
