Police investigate after threat of school violence made on social media

- A Montgomery County school opened on time Thursday despite an online threat of violence that was being investigated by police.

The threat, posted on the social media site Twitter, was discovered Wednesday night and was directed at Paint Branch High School. The Twitter user posted a violent message warning of a shooting and advised students not to come to school.

Extra security was in place Thursday, however, all classes, exams and activities were scheduled on time.

Police are working with the school administration on the threat. Investigators say the Tweet and the Twitter account have been deleted.
