Winter Weather Advisory in place; snow tapering off

Winter weather is tapering off. Most roadways are clear but drivers should be aware of some slick spots.

9:45 a.m. - Virginia State Police report 85 wrecks across the state due to roads slickened by a winter storm.

9:00 a.m. – Snow is tapering off, areas south and east of D.C. got the most snow – around 1.5 inches. Many closings and delays - http://www.myfoxdc.com/category/239079/closings

7:00 a.m. - District of Columbia government offices will open on time despite snow accumulations expected to peak at rush hour.

6:30 a.m. – Numerous closing and delays coming into the newsroom.| http://www.wmata.com/rider_tools/metro_service_status/rail_bus.cfm?

5:30 a.m. – Metrorail & Metrobus operating a regular weekday schedule. | http://www.wmata.com/rider_tools/metro_service_status/rail_bus.cfm?

5:00 a.m. – Expect to see snow and/or mix of snow and sleet during morning commute.

Winter Weather Advisory until 12 noon. Dusting to an 1 ½ south of DC. 1 to 3 inches east of the metro area on the eastern shore.
