We asked FOX 5 Weather gurus Tucker Barnes, Mike Thomas, Gary McGrady and Sue Palka for the five things YOU need to know about Tuesday's snowfall:
1) DON'T PANIC.
Tuesday's predicted snowfall is 1-3 inches, depending on where you are in the D.C. region. This is NOT Snowpocalpyse. You should expect a solid 1+ inch in the immediate D.C. metro area, and
2) YOUR MORNING COMMUTE MIGHT NOT BE AWESOME.
The Beltway will be just fine. Secondary roads could be tricky. Slow down, and know you might need some extra time to get there-- but you will get there.
3) WHAT FALLS WILL STICK.
Temperatures will be below freezing, so that means that 1+ inch WILL stick. It's not going to be like the day before Thanksgiving, when everything melted.
4) EVERYTHING WRAPS UP BY LUNCHTIME(ISH).
And we know how you feel about lunch.
5) THE REAL STORY: A COLD ARCTIC BLAST IS COMING.
Stop worrying about the snow, and start worrying about layers you're going the need after it's over. IT'S GOING TO BE COLD. Daytime highs will be below-- READ: BELOW-- freezing on Wednesday AND Thursday. Layers will be your new best friend, we promise.
