11th Street Bridge reopens after man threatens suicide

A man threatening suicide shut down the 11th Street Bridge Monday morning as emergency crews tried to talk him down.

The man, dressed in bright yellow pants and a red shirt, was perched on the outside of the safety rails for several hours. Traffic was closed in both directions starting at around 8 a.m. until around noon.

At around 11:45 a.m., the man climbed back over the safety rails and into police custody.

It is unclear what charges, if any, will be filed.
