WISCONSIN - Somewhere out there somebody lost out on becoming a millionaire.
A Powerball ticket worth $1 million expired about two weeks ago in Wisconsin. The unknown ticket holder bought the winning piece of paper on September 23 and had until March 2 - 180 days - to claim the prize.
USA Today spoke with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue who told them the winner never came forward. The department said that since 1997, $57 million has gone unclaimed – but $1 million tickets are almost always cashed
